Dear Patients

At this time, under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer of Ontario, Dr. Sabrina Ahmed's office will be closed until further notice.

Our top priority is the health and safety of our patients, staff and community. This closure recommendation is to reduce community spread of Covid-19 and to support the governments call for social distancing.

We are optimistically anticipating that the office will re-open on April 20th, 2020. There is a possibility this date will most likely be changed.

In the event that you are experiencing an urgent eye problem, please send an email to reception@myeyedoc.ca

If you require Urgent Eye Care, please write URGENT in the subject line of the email and give a description of the symptoms. As well include a telephone number where you can be reached.
Please note, as we are working from home, your return phone call will show "No Caller ID".

In the meantime if you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19, such as cough, fever or are having breathing difficulties please contact Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000, your local public health centre or your primary care giver.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and look forward to seeing our patients in the near future.

Stay Healthy

Fundus Retinal Camera Testing

Our office now offers High Resolution Retinal Photography. The latest Canon Retinal Camera offers the highest resolution available on the market today.

LEADING TECHNOLOGY

Serving You Better

retinaRetinal Camera technology is particularly important to detect and monitor occular health at the retinal level. Often times we find things with this technology that might not be detected using more traditional technologies. As well, it provides a permanent record of the condition of the retina so that small changes over time can be detected early. The particular camera in our office is at the forefront in detecting changes at the macula, optic nerve and within the vessel arcade. It is particularly good at finding subtle changes at the retinal level for macular degeneration, diabetes, hypertension and glaucoma.

A close-up view of the retina made possible by our state-of-the-art imaging techniques.

Since nothing touches the eye, this test is painless. There are no x-rays involved, so patients can also have the test performed during pregnancy.

The test is fast becoming the cornerstone in monitoring ocular health in the industry. Dr. Ahmed highly recommends the test during your annual examinations, and it is particularly important for people with a history of high blood pressure, diabetes, flashing lights, headaches, retinal disease, or for those with a strong spectacle prescription.
